What People Are Saying About This Book “John and Kim’s story of discovering they are siblings and unearthing family secrets will resonate with countless readers today. The interest in family history has never been stronger and genealogy websites and DNA tests are redefining what people thought family was. This story reveals the extremes people went to protect themselves and their children and how love can break down boundaries erected in the past. Unexpected Family Ties is a story that will haunt and free you.” — Tyler R. Tichelaar, PhD and Award-Winning Author of The Mysteries of Marquette “Unexpected Family Ties is like opening the window on the first spring day to remove the dead air of winter. Secrets repressed for decades are revealed in this tale of a woman who reconnected with her siblings after being given up for adoption, and how those siblings opened their arms to embrace her. So many questions were asked, so many answers discovered, but overriding it all is the message that being open to life’s twists and turns can lead to true unconditional love and a multitude of blessings.” — Patrick Snow, Publishing Coach and International Best-Selling Author of Creating Your Own Destiny “I was stunned by this story of an unknown sister reunited with her siblings. Unexpected Family Ties gets at the deep truths about unwanted pregnancies and the extremes women once went to in order to hide them. More than just a story of a lost sibling, it’s a story of healing and forgiveness when the people who made life-changing decisions that affected everyone around them are no longer there to tell their stories. This book will haunt you and inspire you to do better with your own relationships.” — Nicole Gabriel, Author of Finding Your Inner Truth and Stepping Into Your Becoming
